When you need to visualize electronic signals, you must have an oscilloscope. Two amazing machines available are the Siglent SDS1104X-E and the Siglent SDS1104X-U. The two-ADC design offers fast four-channel sampling. With all channels enabled, each has a sample rate of 500 Msa/s with a record length of 7 Mpts as the standard. With only one active per ADC, the maximum sample rate is 1 GSa/s with a maximum record length of 14 Mpts.
The SDS1104X-E is part of a new Siglent oscilloscope series that supports several powerful modes, including Slope, Window, Pulse Width, Edge, Runt, Dropout, Interval, Pattern, and Video. This also includes serial bus triggering because decoding for UART, IIC, LIN, SPI, and CAN bus types come included with the oscilloscope.
The X-E also provides history waveform recording as well as sequential triggering. These enable extended analysis and recording of waveforms. There is a math function that gives the X-E an exceptionally high-frequency resolution when observing a signal spectrum.
Additionally, it features searching, navigating, on-screen Bode plots, and an embedded application for remote control of the oscilloscope to configure, collect data, troubleshoot, or monitor.
The SAS1104X-U is another 4-channel 100 MHz oscilloscope.
When compared to the X-E, the X-U features the same large 7-inch screen as well as the excellently placed front-facing control panel. Unlike the X-E, the X-U has reduced time-based and vertical resolutions, eliminated remote control, and reduced ADCs to one.

Additionally, history waveform recording is included. Also, sequential triggering, which enables extended analysis and recording of waveforms, is featured.
It features a digital design that includes a hardware coprocessor. This coprocessor can produce measurements both rapidly and accurately and does not slow down the acquisition of data or front-panel response. Extensive searching and simple navigation are supported.
There are one-button shortcuts provided to include Auto Setup, Cursors, Default, Rolls, Measure, Display/Persist, History, Clear Sweep, Print, and Zoom. Other features include automatic measurements for manydifferent parameters, measurement statistics, zooming, history, gating, math, and reference functions.
There are several interfaces included like USB device, USB host, LAN, trigger out, and pass/fail. It comes with four passive probes.
Clearly, both oscilloscopes offer excellent benefits. However, we must break down the differences before you make a purchasing decision. The SDS1104X-E offers excellent capture rates, a two-ADC design, and high-frequency resolution. We recommend this oscilloscope for professionals.
On the other hand, the SDS1104X-U offers excellent capture rates, a single-ADC design, and a lower calculated frequency. We recommend this for oscilloscope for beginners or users who do not need the benefit of multiple ADCs.
