Both oscilloscopes and logic analyzers are crucial pieces of equipment for debugging and analyzing digital circuits. Instead of having two separate units, it’s so much easier to have one that performs both functions. That’s why OWON developed the MSO8202T. It is an excellent option that decreases the number of devices you will need in your shop.
2-In-1 Digital Mixed Logic Analyzer Oscilloscope
The OWON MSO8202T is a 2-in-1 unit that offers you the use of both a digital storage oscilloscope and a logic analyzer. As an oscilloscope, its bandwidth is 60 MHz to 200 MHz and it has a real-time sampling rate of 2GSa/s when using a single channel and 1 GSa/s when using dual channels.
As a logic analyzer, its bandwidth is 100 MHz to 200 MHz and its real-time sampling rate is 20 Sa/s to 2 GSa/s. It offers 16 digital channels.
Compared to the OWON MSO8102T, the MS08202T offers greater bandwidth for its oscilloscope side. Looking at the logic analyzer side of both scopes, they offer the same bandwidth. Additionally, both units offer the same record rates, the same number of digital channels, and the same number of automatic measurements.
The OWON MSO8202T oscilloscope’s horizontal scale ranges from 1 ns/div to 100 s/div going in step by 1 ~ 2 ~ 5. The rise time at the input is 1.7 ns. It has auto-scale and FFT functions.
Also, its display is an 8-inch color LCD with a TFT screen that has 640 x 800 pixels for resolution, displaying 65,535 colors.
The input impedance is 1 MW± 2% and is in parallel with 15 pF ± 5 pF. The channel isolation for 50 Hz is 100:1 and for 10 MHz is 40:1. The maximum input voltage is 400 V.
Additionally, it features a maximum record length of 2 M. The probe attenuation factor is 1 X, 10 X, 100 X, and 1000 X. It has a vertical resolution of 8 bit for two channels simultaneously while its vertical sensitivity is 2 mV/div to 10 V/div at the input. DC gain accuracy is ± 3%.
It offers acquisition modes of sample, peak detect, and average. The trigger types available are edge, alternate, slope, video, and pulse. It supports 20 automatic measurements.
Data transmission to a PC through a USB connection is supported as well as USB flash drive storage. You will be able to further analyze and diagnose your data easily. Its data system is decimal, hex, and binary.
It comes with a quick start guide to get you going, logic analyzer module, power cord, CD with software, USB cable, battery, probe, probe adjuster, and soft bag.
Recommendation
Clearly, the OWON MSO8202T is an amazing 2-in-1 device. With its real-time sampling rate of 2 GSa/s for both oscilloscope and logic analyzer functions, ability to transmit data directly to a PC, and a high maximum bandwidth of 200 MHz, this oscilloscope is an excellent choice for very detailed results.
We recommend this device for professionals who need to make precise readings to analyze, diagnose, and debug digital circuits.
